Here's a song of botanical existentialism from Stephen Foster, off of an album I did back in 2009 -- really, I'm posting this mostly in reaction to all the 'today vs 10 years ago' photos people have been posting on facebook ever since New Year's. This song comes from a project where I was trying to work up music that would have been current during Edgar Allen Poe's lifetime. This whole album was recorded with the condenser microphone that Apple built into its laptops, all straight to Garageband; 2009 was the year I went and took some composition and theory classes at Western Carolina University -- they were very proud of their commercial music department, and at first I was a little riled by having to take 'Intro to Midi Synthesis' as a requirement, but I learned good stuff in there.

The album also has a reading of the Poe story 'The Tell Tale Heart' on the album complete with soundtrack underscoring, if you want to check it out, here's a link: http://ianmooreplaysfiddle.bandcamp.com/album/the-tell-tale-heart
