Ah, Let the Red Rose...

Updated: Jan 23, 2019

Here's a song of botanical existentialism from Stephen Foster, off of an album I did back in 2009 -- really, I'm posting this mostly in reaction to all the today/ 10 years ago photos people have been posting on facebook ever since New Year's. This song comes from a project where I was trying to work up music that would have been current during Edgar Allen Poe's lifetime. This whole album was recorded with the condenser mics built into a Mac laptop, all straight to Garageband, 2009 was the year I went and took some composition and theory classes at Western Carolina University -- they were very proud of their commercial music department, and at first I was a little riled by having to take 'Intro to Midi Synthesis' as a requirement, but I learned good stuff in there.

The album also has a reading of the Poe story 'The Tell Tale Heart' on the album complete with soundtrack underscoring, if you want to check it out, here's a link: http://ianmooreplaysfiddle.bandcamp.com/album/the-tell-tale-heart
