IAN MOORE
plays fiddle
BIO
Ian Moore is a fiddler, a dancer, a singer. He was raised in NYC and after college spent 18 years living in the backwoods of Southern Appalachia. Recently returned to the lower Hudson valley, he plays fiddle tunes and songs that represent as wild and wide a mix as the folk that came here to live on the eastern seaboard of North America, all of it free range and made fresh every day.
"... I feel like its my mission to represent the wild diversity
of America's roots music -- you'll hear Old Timey Appalachian songs and hoedowns; country Blues & Bluegrass; Irish songs, jigs, reels, hornpipes and the like; I try to give some sense of the depth and scope of jazz, playing tunes that range through Ragtime, Jugband and up into the Swing Era; old honkeytonk country songs and Western Swing; Polkas and Waltzes; the occassional Cajun two step, even a bit of Klezmir and some regional Mexican tunes"
