Ian Moore is a fiddler, a dancer, a singer.  He was raised in NYC and after college spent 18 years living in the backwoods of Southern Appalachia.  Recently returned to the lower Hudson valley, he plays fiddle tunes and songs that represent as wild and wide a mix as the folk that came here to live on the eastern seaboard of North America, all of it free range and made fresh every day.

Performing credits include playing, either as a stage show or an official street act, for Asheville, NC 's premiere street festival, Bele Chere, from 2000 to 2006.  Both with his band, The Ribtips, and by himself he has entertained at parties and corporate events for among others: the Biltmore Estate, the Asheville Chamber of Commerce, two successive North Carolina State Agriculture Commissioners, Balsam Mountain Preserve and Bear Lake Reserve.

Mr. Moore has made music for theatrical productions, short films, and composed a 45 minute ballet, The Scarlet Letter, which was funded in part by the Asheville Arts Council.  The Scarlet Letter was performed in 2007 and again in 2009 by Terpsicorps Theater of Dance at the Diana Wortham Theater.

Ian Moore teaches private lessons for adults, teens and children, teaching both the basics of classical technique and traditional fiddling styles.  These lessons are very much tailored to the interests and abilities of his students.

Ian Moore enjoys playing weddings, lovely luminous tunes for your ceremony, loungey stuff during cocktails, as well as raucous dance music for the festivities to come.
